Nomi

Nomi collection by Sophie Mackrell from Artworx Gallery

Sophie's love of eastern and oriental art forms drew her to the ancient art of origami - the Japanese skill of folding paper to make recognisable forms. She wondered if this technique could be adapted to create jewellery or shapes cast in precious metals. Whilst experimenting,it became apparent that wildlife forms worked especially well and using silver she created these miniature designs inspired by the natural world around us. Each piece sparkles and shines as the facets and folds dance in the light, much like a beautifully cut precious stone. These eye catching small silver figurines feel weighty for their size and are highly collectable. Each piece is presented in a high quality designer pouch and comes complete with an elegant gift bag.
