Sue started painting when she moved to Shropshire in 1999. Initially painting local landscapes in watercolour, she went on to start painting wildlife in oils in 2013. She has gone on to exhibit and win awards with both the Association of Animal Artists and in the National Exhibition of Wildlife Artists. Sue is fascinated by many of the endangered animals such as big cats. Her paintings are highly detailed, with the individual texture of each animal’s fur built up using layers of oil paint. People often say that they feel they could reach out and touch the animal. Her love of detail extends to the eyes, bringing the animal to life.
